It seems that of all the pieces of furniture in the house, fabric or leather recliners take the hardest beating. Kids plop down on them and push them back to recline without any thought to how the mechanism works. They flop over the arms of the chair (both when it is upright and reclined), or they lean on the back of the chair and tip it backwards (this maneuver is also done with the chair in any position). Kids eat, drink and play with all sorts of things in a recliner. It is no wonder, as parents, that we want something that is durable! When it comes to upholstery, you cannot beat the toughness of leather. Leather recliners last. You may initially put out a bit more for the purchase, but the chair will outlast a fabric upholstery chair by as much as 4 to 1. However, you must remember that not all leather is created equally. Lets take a look at the three main types of leather (remembering that there are dozens of subcategories), and what to look for to make sure that you get what you pay for.
First, the highest quality leather is full-grain or top-grain leather. It is made from the top layer of the skin, the part where the hair has to be removed from the hide. What you see is what you get, this type of leather has real character because nothing is done to conceal any blemishes in the leather. You have to remember that the leather used to adorn a living, breathing animal. That animal may have suffered from insect bites, scratches or scars from run ins with barbed wire, "burns" from over scratching their neck on fence rails or manure that sticks to their hide for very long without being removed.
The grain can vary on full-grain leather, depending upon any healed scars, or any wrinkling, veining or stretch marks (yes, who knew it, stretch marks can be attractive if you are a cow!). But being natural, it offers great breathability. It adapts to both environmental and body temperatures. It ages very nicely, developing its own unique patina. Leather recliners made out of top-grain leather has either an aniline or semi-aniline finish. This creates a soft and supple leather, it is left with a natural finish - not dyed.
The next type of leather is commonly called a corrected-grain leather, though it may also be referred to as plated, embossed or buffed. This type of leather is made from top-grain leather, but has been sanded or buffed down because it did not meet the standards necessary to be a full-grain leather. This leather came from cattle that led a rough life, their hides have a lot of problems. The buffing hides most of these imperfections, then an artificial grain is applied. Often this type of leather is dyed with pigment to further conceal any imperfections. You will find many leather recliners in various colors with a nice smooth grain made from corrected-grain leather.
The third, and poorest quality leather that you have to watch out for, is split-grain leather. A cows hide is quite thick, so the hide will be split, often more than once. The high quality top-grain is the top layer, and what is left is split-grain leather. This type of leather has no natural grain, it is from the fibrous part of the hide, and this tissue structure just isn't very strong. Split leather is great for a lot of things (such as suede) but it is not good for furniture.
So, the next time you go shopping for a couple of leather recliners (his and hers), make sure that you are getting high quality leather so that the chair will last for many years to come. A top-grain leather may be best, but if it is out of your price range, a nice corrected-grain leather also make for very nice and good quality leather recliners.

Corner Desk: Pros and Cons
A corner desk is a useful piece of furniture. If you already use one for your office or at home, then you already know what a great option it is. If you don't, but are trying to decide what type of desk to get, then take a look at the pros and cons of a corner desk to help you make a good decision.
I've used all sorts of desks over the years. Probably my favorite one is the corner desk I use now. It works great in my home office. I can freely move my office chair around in the space in front of the desk. This is extremely important to most people, as it is for me. Being able to access not only my keyboard, but also my filing cabinet and printer easily is something facilitated by having a corner desk. A regular rectangular shaped desk tends to get over crowded. So, pro number one is ease of access to office machines and workspaces.
The second pro of using a corner desk is that it is an efficient use of space that otherwise would be wasted. You know how it is. If there is an extra square foot of free space we tend to fill it up with something. Maybe one of those awful fake plants I am sorry to say I have owned way too long. Or some figurine or other useless object will be placed there. I'm not sure why we do that, but we do. Obviously, having the desk in the corner means nothing else can go there.
My corner desk also has vertical space built in above the main work surfaces in the form of shelves. These are really nice. I can't emphasize enough how important it has become to me to be able to place objects up and out of the way. I like to use part of the shelf to keep my extra cds and DVDs, a few basic office supplies, and a few personal items like a picture and plant. On the other part of the shelf I tend to store my external hard drive, digital camera, card reader and flash drive. These things are nice to have close by since they are regularly used, but up and out of the way of my normal working area.
The biggest con to owning and using a corner desk is really only applicable if you are one of those people who just has to have their back to the wall. I don't know if that comes from the old west thing where you always want to have the room and door in front of you at all times or what. You never know when you might have a shoot out I guess, and you want to be prepared for anything. All kidding aside, some people are just more comfortable when they are situated more directly against a wall or in a corner facing out. I, for one, am not one of those people so having a corner desk that forces my chair to be more out in the room with my back to the door doesn't bother me at all.
There are many sorts of desks that come in all shapes and sizes, and any number of these may work great for you. A corner desk is something I have come to prefer over the years because of their ease of use and organization as well as accessibility to everything you need while working. If you are considering a corner desk, I would recommend one without reservation.

Pool Alarm Provides Added Peace Of Mind
Do you or someone you know own a pool? Do your children use a swimming pool? Summer is upon us, the hot and lazy days of sun and fun. It is the time of the year when we spend hours a day at the pool. For all the fun and good times we have; there is also the opportunity to have a pool related accident. In most cases these type accidents involve children. How confident are you that your pool is child safe? More than 900 children between the ages of 1 and 14 die each year in drowning accidents. The statistic is tragic, but most of these accidents can be prevented by being proactive.
A swimming pool alarm can provide homeowners and businesses with added safety and peace of mind. POOL PROTECTOR is the result of intellectualized and quality design and high manufacturing techniques. POOL PROTECTOR is an electronic monitoring system that automatically sounds an alarm when children or pets fall into your unsupervised pool. POOL PROTECTOR is a portable, self-contained, light weight unit that is safe and simple to operate. Entry into the pool will be detected by the unit's electronic sensor, triggering a loud pulsating alarm and an internal RF transmitter. The alarm has a LED Indicator which indicates the current status of POOL PROTECTOR.
When you use the pool to swim, the system can be put into the sleep mode. In sleep mode, thanks to the automatic rearming feature, if the alarm detects the pool hasn't been used for a 100 seconds (if there are no waves), the system will be automatically reactivated and the LED Indicator will flash green.
Once you've finished swimming and there are no waves and the pool is calm the POOL PROTECTOR will rearm itself. Only when the pool surface has stood flat for 100 seconds, the system reactivates, and is once again armed.
Installation of the Pool Protector is very easy and fast. It sits on the pool deck as shown in picture. After you install the POOL PROTECTOR, it can't be de-activated. This is a great feature as it is always in the alarm ready mode and only you can put it into a Sleep Mode. If someone who does not know how to put the swimming pool alarm in sleep mode attempts to remove it, the alarm will sound. The POOL PROTECTOR comes with a remote receiver which can be mounted in your home up to 200 feet from the main unit. It comes with a 12 volt power supply. The POOL PROTECTOR uses one a 9-volt battery (not included) which should last approximately one year. There is a audible low battery indicator which will sound at the poolside alarm and the remote receiver.
This could be the best investment you've ever made. Just imagine what could happen if some of the neighborhood children decide to go for a midnight swim at your house. Without any notification something tragic could happen leaving you liable for criminal and civil litigation. What if your own youngster, who can't swim, accidentally gets too close and falls in. Again, unless you are right there the end result could be tragedy.
This is one of the best new products we've seen come along in a while. For pool owners it really could be priceless investment.

How to choose the right pest control company
Pests like bugs, termite, fleas, cockroaches, ants, rats, rodents, mice and many other insects create a nuisance in your house and make your life miserable. These pests multiply day by day and make your house unhygienic and invite several diseases as these pests infect your food and other eatable in your house. These roam around freely in your kitchen, bedroom or living rooms and most of the pests spoil your wood furniture too! its time to act now, choose a perfect pest control company that helps you get rid of this nuisance immediately before it causes a major threat to you and your family. The pest control company should have effective ways to manage, control and eradicate pest forever. But how will you choose the right pest control company? Well, here are a few suggestions that might help you to take a sensible decision: - Costs: Cost is the main factor that comes to your mind while choosing a pest control company. You need to think whether the fee charged by any company is within your budget. Once you know the price you can check its worth by the services they offer you. - Service: After you know the fees they charge you, you need to know what kind of services and treatments they will offer. See if the company charges you for the entire house pest control treatment, that is inside and the outside of the house or do they charge you something extra for the internal treatments too. However, a good company should charge you for your lawns or gardens and groundwork treatment. This depicts their capability and confidence in effective treatment methods they offer, thus keeping pests away forever. - Type of treatment: You need to know the type of treatment they offer and also know the chemicals they use for pest control. Some of the companies use harsh chemicals to control and kill pests, but these may be dangerous and harmful to you and your family. Check if the chemical include a warning label and if it does have, its sensible to search some other pest control services. Look for the company that offers you environmental friendly products and chemicals for treatment methods and remember, you are eradicating the problem and not inviting worries. - Schedule: Be sure the company offers prompt and quick services or provides treatment on the appointment date only. This shows that the company values time and respects your convenience too. If the problem is too serious, they should offer you instant services, this proves the authenticity of the company. They should be regular at work and provide effective treatment methods so as to help you live a tension free life. Remember, to live in hygienic conditions is of utmost importance. If you are living in healthy atmosphere, you are free from any kind of disease. The main cause of major health problems is how well you maintain your hygiene. As wisely said "Cleanliness is next to Godliness", you should maintain a clean and healthy environment where you live. It is not sufficient to keep the interiors of your home clean, you should also maintain the exteriors of your home like your lawns and gardens. So choose the right pest control company that has effective solutions to maintain first class hygiene for your family.
"Why Are You Doing Everything Yourself?"
I know for some of you 'control freaks' out there this one's gonna be tough for you. But read on! You might find how EASY this can be, really.
When I finally gave in to delegating from my extremely 'do-it-myself' mentality at first I admit it was a bit hard. I was always double checking things and everyone around me to make sure they were doing it 'right'. I probably drove my first Virtual Assistant absolutely NUTS!
However my coach at the time kept showing me how important it was to become really successful in my business, and to make a six or seven figure income, that I needed to surround myself with experts and a support team of people who could take on all the things in my business (and my life!) that:
- I didn't like to do
- I didn't want to do
- I didn't know how to do or
- That someone could do BETTER AND FASTER than me!
So, one day I put together a list of things like this and to my surprise the list was quite long! It was kind of a 'wish list' so to speak that if I could wish for someone else to do these things, then it would free me up to do the things I LOVE TO DO which is brainstorm and consult with clients on new ideas they can implement to get them more business!
Plus I had a TON OF IDEAS to implement in my own business too - but there was never enough time in the day/week to get to ANY of them! This bummed me out. I knew that it would take me years to implement all the great ideas I had if I continued to do it all myself.
I just saw an article that Ali Brown wrote (and I'm not including it here but I'm giving her credit for this part!), she's an expert at this delegation and virtual team building stuff, and she mentions there are 5 things you MUST DO to overcome being a CONTROL FREAK:
-- First, you have to change your MINDSET
-- Second, you have to know WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT
-- Third, you have to hire the RIGHT PEOPLE
-- Fourth, you have to have SYSTEMS
-- Fifth, you have to have TRUST
Here is my main list of tasks that I typically will delegate to a Virtual Assistant, copywriter, web designer or some other support team member of mine - it's fabulous - you should try it!
- Bookkeeping: tracking expenses, sales and tax records
- Internet research to get me better SEO, more traffic, etc.
- Article Marketing all my current articles, shuffling them around, refreshing them
- Maintaining my customer mailing lists on an easy to use database
- Creating extra pages on my website as needed
- Handling recordings of teleclasses, burning CD's, mailings, etc.
- Handling bounced emials from Constant Contact, updating with new
- Formatting e-books and other online products
- Designing PowerPoint presentations
- Sending out ebirthday greetings to clients
- Handwriting follow up notes and mailing out postcards
- Data entry of all new contacts
- Transcribing teleclasses
- Posting on blogs, forums and social/biz networking sites
- Developing my Networking Calendar every month
- Managing my shopping cart account and merchant account as needed
- Creating Google Alerts
- Proofreading
- Updating my YouTube page, videos and adding technology to my website
- Submitting press releases online or locally
So, what's on your plate that you shouldn't be doing, hate doing or aren't really that good at doing that you should DELEGATE??? And don't forget about the personal tasks too like housekeeping, landscaping/mowing, shopping, cooking, making travel plans, errand running, etc. - you can pay someone to do ALL OF THIS you know? Ask yourself "What is YOUR time worth?" and free it up to do BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS!

Is Pepper Spray or Mace the Best Buy?
What Is Mace?
First off, Mace is a brand name of Mace Security International. The word Mace has become generic like Kleenex is for facial tissues. Mace is a variant of tear gas and is made by several companies. Tear gas is made from two chemicals called CN and CS. Tear gas is a popular crowd control agent or for removing people from buildings. It causes irritation to the nose, eyes, throat and lungs. Chemical Mace makes a person feel like they can't catch their breath.
Mace turns partially to a vapor when it is released and consequently doesn't need to be in direct contact with the assaulter's face for it to work. If the vapor blows into the assailants eyes and nose the effects will be accomplished. Nevertheless, because most vapors can be avoided for a while by holding your breath and closing your eyes tightly or until the wind disperses the spray. Pepper spray doesn't emit fumes and doesn't disperse with time. But, it must be sprayed on to the aggressor's face to be effective.
Mace requires from five to 30 seconds to act and this could give the attacker time to grab you and/or the mace. The effects of mace lasts longer than the pepper spray and may endure for several days. When the pepper spray has been washed off, its effects are short-lived.
Chemical Mace is regulated more rigorously than pepper spray and is unlawful in some states.
What Is Pepper Spray?
Pepper spray is a chemical called OC (Oleoresin Capsicum). It is an oil-based product made from hot peppers. It is categorized as an inflammatory chemical. It causes inflammation of the eyes, nose and throat immediately upon skin contact.
Pepper spray will bring down a attacker that's on drugs or intoxicated. Mace might not have an effect on assailants that are drunk or high. A one-second blast of pepper spray into an attacker's face will typically disable a person for fifteen minutes to one hour. The pepper spray causes profound coughing, nausea, dilation of the eyeballs inducing temporary blindness. The membranes in the attacker's nose and throat will swell up to the point where they can scarcely breathe.
These responses to pepper spray are entirely involuntary and the attacker can't control the reaction. Nonetheless, the level of the response is dependent upon a persons tolerance to inflammatory agents. A few people have a greater tolerance than other people have and may need to be pepper sprayed a couple of times before becoming incapacitated.
Pepper sprays are used extensively in law enforcement and are nonfatal. They are legal in most states. Some state regulate the use and ownership of pepper sprays. You should check with your local police force to ascertain if there are regulations and what they are.
Like any self-protection product there are some limitations and consequently should be just one a few personal protection devices. It may take 3 or 4 seconds for the pepper spray to work. You want to be prepared for the assailant to attempt to take it from you. If you're outdoors, rain and/or wind can dilute the effects. If the wind is blowing your way, you may end up being sprayed as much as the assailant.
Perhaps I Had Better Get Both.
This is now possible in one product known as Triple Action Mace? from Mace Security International. Triple Action Mace? is a combination of the pepper spray's OC and CN from mace. It also contains a UV Marking Dye that can be seen with a black light when the police apprehend the attacker. The combined effects are annihilating and quick. The pepper spray is quick acting and automatic and the mace keeps the attacker incapacitated longer.
The invention of Triple Action mace solves the all problems of mace and pepper spray except for the wind direction.

You have to be careful while entering the address because you might enter an incorrect street number or zip code which might lead you to incorrect results.
Moreover, you may also use a property listing website to find out who lives on a street. The property listing websites would mostly give the accurate results for your research against the address. Additionally you would also find some websites offered by Govt. for public use. The websites offered by the Govt. would be reliable because the Govt. uses these records for solving legal issues. Mostly the websites offered by the Govt. would have some charges associate with them that you would require paying before performing your search.
Dive In Movie Nights
Many people today long for nostalgic activities. People love to remember the days of yesterday, remembering things that they did as kids or young adults. One of these nostalgic events that has gone by the wayside is outdoor movies and drive in movies. These were extremely popular up until new technology came out, which is unfortunate.
Outdoor public movies have all but gone away in the day and age of HDTV, surround sound, and mega movie theaters. Many people think it is unfortunate that this pasttime has almost gone away. This could be something that is completely forgotten by the next generation.
There is a way to mix this favorit pasttime with the modern era. You can do this with what is called a dive in movie. Dive in movies are aptly named because they involve watching a movie while floating in a pool.
Dive in movies utilize an inflatable movie screen or other movie screen to project a movie next to a pool. This is very fun for people because they can theme their party very well.
For example, if you were throwing a luau party, you could throw a dive in movie pool party while showing a movie. This would allow you to theme your party around a luau theme while entertaining them with a movie. Just be sure not to show a movie about a man-eating shark!
Try a dive-in movie for your next party. Blow up a screen, serve up some food and drink, invite some great guests, and do a dive in movie. You will be glad you did!

What Do You Eat?
This is a simple question, but may not be that simple to many people.
This question should be asked by a doctor when he or she sees a patient. When an individual goes to see a doctor, that individual may have a health issue, and it is the responsibility of the doctor to find out if there is any connection between the patient's diet and the health issue in question. Healthy eating is healthy living: healthy eating focuses on the nutritive value of food to eliminate many health problems in life.
What do you eat? Many people simply don't know what they are eating, or can hardly recall what they were eating even only a short while ago. If you ask someone in a fast food restaurant about the food he or she is eating, that person may not be able to tell you much about that food being consumed. At best, that person may be able to say the food is not very healthy, but may not be able to explain why is is not healthy. It is not surprising that people know little about food. They just eat without thinking.
Many people's food choice is based on only two factors: convenience and availability. To many, the nutritive value of food is never a priority. Even many doctors' knowledge of food is elementary, and very limited.
We are living in a fast-pace society, in which we compromise everything in the name of speed. There is a Spanish proverb: "A man too busy to take care of his health is like a craftsman who is too busy to take care of his tools."
You need to slow down, and appreciate your food. This is the first step towards healthy eating. When you appreciate your food, you will be mindful of what it is that you eat, where it comes from, and why you should or should not eat it. Mindfulness of what you eat is healthy eating.
For example, you may have second thoughts about eating processed food, which is no more than "destroyed" food. Processed food is nutrient deficient: the vital element in the food is removed, and is replaced by salt (to mask the bad odor of spoiled food), sugar (to increase your food cravings), food colorings (to make it more visually appealing), and preservatives (to make it last longer on the shelf). If you are more mindful of what you eat, you may start wondering why you, a living person, are eating "dead" food.
For any food item to be qualified as "food," it must meet certain criteria: it must provide energy and nutrients. You do not consume food that gives you only empty calories, that is, calories without the nutrients for energy and satiety. An individual needs a certain amount of calories - depending on the physical makeup as well as the level of physical activity - to sustain life and wellness. Insufficient calories will cause hunger and lack of energy; excess calories, on the other hand, will result in weight gain.
Food is simple and natural as provided by nature. But scientists would like to "improve" on it by additives and even genetically altering it.

Why Do You Need Credit Card Consolidation
The US is facing one of the toughest economic challenges in history. The Obama administration is doing everything in its power to put the financial state of the country back on track. The Credit Card bill is one of the government’s solutions to the glitch. In turn, the controversial legislation will give rise to better credit card consolidation policies and other practices implemented by the banking industry.
While this sounds like good news, the efforts of lawmakers to take the credit card burdens off consumers’ backs will remain futile if American cardholders are not aware of the benefits that credit card policies bring. Here is a rundown of reasons as to why cardholders drowning in the sea of debt should try their luck at credit card consolidation.
1. This will save you from the skyrocketing yearly fees.
One of the complaints raised against the banking industry is the sky-high rates that they annually charge on consumers. The problem is compounded when holders have multiple credit cards since this would mean multiple annual fees to get rid off.
Although having multiple credit cards raises your purchasing power, it can also be problematic when it comes to paying off the fees attached to each of them. To enjoy the gifts and manage the curse of having several credit cards, try credit card consolidation. On the other hand, before using this as your reason to have your credit card debts consolidated, be sure that the bank would not charge you with higher interest rates and other undeclared fees. If you are not keen enough to notice these charges, you might pay high fees per annum even with the shield of consolidating your debts
2. With credit card consolidation come perks from card issuers.
Believe it or not, some credit card issuers are willing to pay holders for them to consolidate their loans. This might sound too good to be true, but this is a strategy used by banks to entice consumers. Some issuers are even willing to offer you a privilege to transfer your good credit card debt to their account, and in exchange, they would lower your debts from your outstanding credit card balance. However, remember that receiving a carrot does not mean you are spared from the stick. Beware of hidden fees and other sneaky tactics that banks may impose on you. Be sure to study the policies, terms and conditions before signing anything.
3. If you have a bad credit card score, you definitely need a credit card consolidation.
A bad credit card score will hinder your loans from being approved. Needless to say, it leaves a bad record on your account. To avoid the situation from going out of hand, consolidate your credit card debts since you no longer have the financial capabilities of making payments and catching up on repayments.
Credit card consolidation is another option that you can consider to save you from falling deeper into the quicksand of debts. Do not allow your bad credit card score make an unsightly mark on your financial records. Take action and consolidate your credit card debts now.
