This behavior can be triggered by almost any circumstance. The behavior can be troublesome and even dangerous when the act is done against other children.
- Child screams loudly for extended period of time - This behavior trait is a clear sign of wanting attention from parents. The child is relating experience as a baby when crying meant getting attention to screaming to get attention or get what they want. This behavior is common in public places, as the child is not acclimated to public settings and can be easily frightened by the unknown and unfamiliar surroundings.
- Child hitting others, parents included - By hitting others, the child is outwardly expressing feelings of anger and being upset. Most children that are toddler aged are not yet developed enough to understand proper ways to resolving conflict, and will act through physical violence to get attention.
