When people are young, they yearn for freedom in the same way that farmers wish that their fields yield a good crop of potatoes. But, how long could the young people enjoy themselves? Recently, some of mine middle-aged students feel youth is slipping away after thirty, admitting that they are not as free as they once were. One of them told me when he was in high school, he felt the class was so boring that he always stretched, yawned and fell asleep during the class with the thought that time is ample. But now he wouldn't do that any more, for he felt that time was too limited to doze off and that time seemed yelling at him. After knowing his feeling, I realized with sentiment not only that youth was short, but that I ought to cherish it. At least, I should make sure when I sit in the back yard one day, if I have one, to enjoy the senior life, I won't regret.
